Safaris in Style

I´m in Africa with my wife at the moment to research the third of our books in the Holidays in Style series and I´m very excited about it.

We´re working on a book called Safaris in Style and travelling around South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana and Tanzania. They´re all places I´ve wanted to see and it´s a fantastic experience.

As a young footballer you just want to head to the sun and mess around with your mates, but this has given me the chance to go to some amazing places and really experience the culture.

We do want people to be able to backpack and sleep on the beach, but we also want to offer some advice on how to go to those places you visited on a budget and enjoy them in a bit more style.

It´s about looking at the gastronomic side of things, the slickest places to go and stay, how to get the most out of the local culture.

Our book Global Adventures in Style came out in January. Honeymoons in Style will be out shortly. In that we go to Italy, France, Indonesia, Morocco, Japan, Brazil, Australia and the South Pacific.

I really enjoy taking the pictures and my wife writes the text. I think we make a really good team. It´s all a massive change from playing football and a real way to get away from the stresses of the game.

I´ll be really busy but because it is such a change from my usual life it´ll still refresh me for the challenges of the new season.
